A Call for Increased Vigilance by Citizens in Kwara State


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Kwara State Commandant, Umar Mohammed, has urged citizens to remain vigilant and actively support the corps in addressing the growing insecurity challenges.

Speaking at the commissioning of a new Divisional office of the corps in Ipee town, Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State on Tuesday, Umar emphasized that security is a collective responsibility.

He encouraged all citizens to play their role in ensuring the safety of their communities by working together and sharing information promptly to effectively tackle security challenges.

Umar highlighted that the recent surge in security issues in the state prompted the upgrade of the outpost to a full-fledged operational divisional office to better address insecurity.

He praised the project’s financier, Olayiwola Oyebode, Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, and the supportive residents of the Ipee community for their dedication in completing the project timely.

Commandant Umar pledged to diligently work on addressing security challenges within and around the Ipee community to create a safer environment for all residents.

Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olayiwola Oyebode, expressed gratitude to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his efforts in reducing crime in the state.

Onipe of Ipee, Oba Lawal Mufutau Adebayo Titiloye III, also appreciated the corps for its dedication to ensuring the community’s safety.
