Suspected Criminals Attack, Resulting in Driver’s Death and Two Abductions on Abuja-Kaduna Highway

A tragic incident unfolded on the Abuja-Kaduna highway where suspected criminals killed a driver identified as Danladi Jobe and abducted two others. Yahuza Alhassan, a resident of Katari, reported that the attack occurred around 9:33 pm at Dogon-Fili, near Jere town. According to eyewitnesses, the deceased was on his way back from a nearby village market when the bandits suddenly appeared from the bushes and opened fire on the vehicle, resulting in the driver’s immediate death. One of the victims, a farmer named Shuaibu, was taken into the bush by the assailants. “Following the driver’s killing, the criminals then targeted the farmer, taking away N980,000 in cash from him before abducting him and another individual from the vehicle,” Alhassan stated. Efforts to reach DSP Mansur Hassan, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, were unsuccessful as calls and text messages went unanswered.
