Venezuela faces its fourth day of rescue after the double earthquake that shook the country last Wednesday. The death toll has already risen to 1,430, while more than 3,000 people are missing. As for Spaniards, Foreign Affairs has raised the death toll to nine, maintains the missing at 131 and there are 14 people located under the rubble.
The images of the destruction are impressive as well as dramatic. It should be noted that the two earthquakes – both greater than grade 7 – occurred with a difference of only 39 seconds, and the majority of buildings were not prepared to withstand a catastrophe of such magnitude.

Ernesto lives in a neighborhood of La Guaira, the area most affected by the earthquakes, which has been completely devastated.
Heavy machinery has already arrived at the epicenter
The video was recorded around a residential area called Residencias Los Dos Delfines and shows some collapsed buildings, while others remain standing, some with their walls torn off, revealing the damage suffered by the apartments inside. The video also shows rescue teams and people moving through the rubble next to one of the damaged buildings.
The Minister of Transportation of Venezuela, Jacqueline Faría, has confirmed that throughout the day the Metro will restart in Caracas, Valencia and Maracaibo. In addition, dozens of machines entered various areas of La Guaira, ground zero for earthquakes.
In the Caraballeda and Los Corales sectors, in the epicenter of the devastation, the excavators have already managed to arrive, while different helicopters flew over that area, after almost three days of very precarious rescue activities carried out by volunteers.
