Intense precipitation in Katsina State capital have inundated the Kofar Kaura underpass road fabricated by the immediate former Governor Aminu Bello Masari late last year, 2022.
The deluge also swept away two individuals from the nearby town of Sabon Ungwa in Katsina City.
Hamza, a inhabitant of Sabo Ungwa said his adolescent companion is one of the victims, and also an 8-year-old was carried away by the deluge.
He said, “This occurs inside Gadan-Na-Yalli inside Sabon Ungwa. The 19-year-old boy my mate when he was drowning, his parent and others struggled to rescue him from the water proved abortive. Already a search team went to look for his cadaver”.
LEADERSHIP however observed the devastating flood, ascended above the channels fabricated as a waterway entering people’s houses and shops.
The situation was the same at the Tudun Katsira, Goma area, Sabon Ungwa and Sabo Kasuwa areas inside Katsina town.
Inhabitants of the area are asserting the Contractor underestimated the surge of water in the Kofar Kaura area which resulted in the issue being experienced, urging the government to bring engineers to conduct a survey of the area and find a lasting solution otherwise it will cause a serious challenge in the future.
