15 suspected criminals arrested by police in Gombe


Under the leadership of CP Hayatu Usman, the Gombe State Police Command has detained 15 suspects for engaging in different criminal activities as part of their ongoing crackdown on crime within the state.

The arrests were carried out in line with the Command’s commitment to combating crime and ensuring the safety of both residents and visitors, according to ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, the Command’s Public Relations Officer.

Among those apprehended were Hassan Danladi (25 years old), Seth Adamu (42 years old), and Eli Bulus (22 years old) on charges of criminal conspiracy and illegal possession of firearms. Danladi was discovered in possession of illicit arms such as a Dane gun, bow and arrows, charms, and armlets, which he admitted to obtaining from Adamu and Bulus, all residents of Kaltungo LGA.

Another individual, Mohammed Umar, also known as Madaki, from Bomala Quarters in Gombe, was arrested for causing severe harm. He brutally attacked Mohammed Mohammed with a cutlass, causing a deep wound on the victim’s left hand.

Adamu Bello, aged 27 and hailing from Barunde Quarters, was apprehended for participating in criminal conspiracy and armed robbery. He was part of a gang that stole items worth N1,162,400 from Almustapha El-Yakubu of Barunde Quarters.

Buba Wakili and Babangida Ahmadu, residents of Damra, were nabbed on charges of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping. They were involved in pressuring Buba Tukur from Damba village to pay N1,000,000 or face being kidnapped.

Adamu Maikudi, a 23-year-old from Mai Rana village in Billiri LGA, was arrested for engaging in criminal conspiracy and theft. He was part of a group that stole 23 cows from Golombi village and subsequently sold them.

Other individuals taken into custody included Usman Yarima and Sani Adamu for theft, Nasiru Sani for criminal conspiracy, house trespass, and theft, Abubakar Saleh for committing criminal trespass, theft, and being in possession of a dangerous weapon, and Anas Ibrahim and Zaradeen Abubakar for involvement in criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.

The State Police Command issued a warning to heavy truck drivers and trailers transporting foodstuffs to be vigilant against criminals who climb onto trucks to steal food items.

Furthermore, the Command praised its officers’ efforts and encouraged the public to provide crucial information to support the ongoing fight against crime.
