In a recent interview with content creator Timi Agbaje, Nigerian artist Michael Adebayo Olayinka, widely known as Ruger, disclosed that he is the owner of two firearms.
During the discussion about the origins of his stage name, the Blown Boy boss shared this surprising detail.
When asked about the inspiration behind the name Ruger, the artist responded, stating, “It’s a gun, man.”
The interviewer further inquired, “So you possess a gun?” to which Ruger calmly responded, “Yeah, I do. I have two.”
However, Ruger did not provide any information regarding the legality of his firearm ownership.
Last year, the Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, emphasized the temporary suspension of firearms issuance and highlighted efforts to eliminate illegally circulated arms.
He mentioned that the current focus is on “mopping up arms in circulation” and emphasized that there is currently no nationwide issuance of firearms licenses.
