Weather Outlook: NiMet Forecasts 3-Day Stretch of Sunshine and Haze Starting Monday

Expect sunny conditions with haziness from Monday to Wednesday nationwide, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet.

For Monday, NiMet anticipates sunny and hazy weather in parts of Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, and Katsina states, with a possibility of morning thunderstorms in Taraba state.

Localized thunderstorms are likely over Kaduna, Bauchi, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Taraba states.

In the North Central region, cloud patches and intervals of sunshine are expected, with chances of localized thunderstorms in the morning over the Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, Benue, and Kogi states.

Later in the day, localized thunderstorms may occur over the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, and Niger states.

Over the Inland South and Coastal areas, cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine are predicted, with chances of localized thunderstorms in the morning over Ogun, Oyo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states.

Localized thunderstorms are expected later in the day over Imo, Abia, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Oyo, Rivers, Edo, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Delta states.

On Tuesday, a sunny start with some cloud patches is expected in the Northern region, with localized thunderstorms later in the day over Kaduna, Taraba, Zamfara, and Kebbi states. The North Central region will have intervals of sunshine amid cloudy conditions.

Localized thunderstorms may occur in parts of Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue, and the Federal Capital Territory in the morning hours, with more expected later in the day in Kogi, Plateau, the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kwara, Benue, and Nasarawa states.

In the Inland South and Coastal areas, anticipate a mix of sun and clouds, with isolated thunderstorms possible in Enugu, Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states in the morning. Later in the day, localized thunderstorms are predicted in several Southern states.

Wednesday will bring a sunny start with patchy clouds in the North, with localized thunderstorms expected in Taraba and Kaduna states later in the day. The North Central region will see a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day.

In the Southern region, cloudy skies are expected in the morning, with thunderstorms likely later in the day.
