Visit from Nnamdi Kanu’s Wife to IPOB Leader in DSS Custody

Uchechi Kanu, the wife of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), recently visited her husband while he is in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

During her visit, she mentioned that Anambra South Senator, Ifeanyi Ubah, facilitated her meeting with Kanu.

Kanu has been held by the DSS since 2021, following his extradition from Kenya.

Prior to her visit, it was reported that Mrs. Kanu had been previously denied access to her husband multiple times.

Speaking to IPOB members on a radio broadcast in the United Kingdom, Uchechi expressed appreciation for Ubah’s efforts in arranging the visit.

She stated, “I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Senator Ifeanyi Ubah for swiftly enabling my visit to my husband while he is in DSS custody. I appreciate your assistance.”

“I also extend my thanks to other Igbo politicians, governors, and public officials who have shown concern for my husband’s situation.”

“Many of these leaders are troubled by the unjust detention of my husband and are working quietly to facilitate discussions for his release. I am thankful for their efforts.”
