Warm Reception for Nigerian Troops Returning from Successful Operation

Upon their return from a military mission in Nigeria’s Northeast, soldiers were greeted with cheers and festivities by the local community.

The troops, part of Operation Desert Sanity III, had been dispatched to confront insurgents in the Sambisa and Timbuktu Triangle areas.

As shared in a video by the Nigerian Army on its official X account, the local residents in Nigeria’s Northeast region warmly welcomed the heroic troops following a successful operation in the notorious Sambisa and Timbuktu Triangle regions.

The operation, known as “Desert Sanity III,” aimed to eliminate insurgent threats and secure the region, resulting in a significant victory for the nation’s security forces.”

According to PUNCH, as part of Operation Desert Sanity III, the troops successfully rescued Lydia Simon, an abducted student of the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, in the Ngoshe area of the Gwoza Local Government Area in Borno State.

Recent reports also indicated that the troops seized control of a stronghold belonging to the Boko Haram/Islamic State of West African Province in Borno State.

The Army confirmed that the operation’s air and ground units carried out a clearance mission targeting the terrorist stronghold located along the Ngumne, Kawaran, and Mangu axes within the Sambisa Forest and Timbuktu Triangle.
