Two worshippers abducted as kidnappers attack church in Ogun State

Reports indicate that gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have targeted a Celestial Church in Ogun State, taking two worshippers named Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

The incident unfolded at the church near Oriyarin village, Mowe, situated in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State on Thursday.

In a statement released on Friday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, mentioned that the perpetrators made their escape through a dense forest situated behind the church.

The official statement stated, “Incident of suspected kidnapping: Information available indicates that on 28/3/2024, unidentified gunmen attacked a Celestial Church in Oriyarin village Mowe, abducting Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola before fleeing through the thick forest behind the church.

“The briefing has been communicated to the Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, who has given directives for the immediate dispatch of security forces to pursue the criminals.”
