Two members abducted from a church in Ogun State by armed men


Reports have emerged of armed individuals raiding a Celestial Church of Christ located in Mowe, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. The assailants carried out the abduction of two worshippers during the incident.

Omolola Odutola, the police public relations officer of the state, affirmed the occurrence and identified the kidnapped individuals as Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

According to Odutola, the perpetrators fled via a dense forest situated behind the church following the abduction.

Providing details of the event, she stated, “On March 28, 2024, unidentified individuals ambushed a Celestial church in Oriyarin village, Mowe. They seized Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola and promptly made their escape through the thick woodland located behind the church.”

Furthermore, Odutola disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has been briefed on the situation and has instructed law enforcement personnel to pursue the abductors and secure the release of the captives.
