An Iranian state music center has published a video clip to thank Spain for its position in the war launched by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic, which Madrid has opposed.
With the title ‘Thank you, Spain’, the song in the video clip is a “show of gratitude for the solidarity of the Government and the people of this country with the Iranian people,” reported the Mawa Musical Center, responsible for the production, in a statement collected by the IRNA agency.
Recorded at the beginning of May at a demonstration
The video was recorded at the beginning of May in one of the student demonstrations that took place in front of the Spanish embassy in Tehran, with Iranian and Spanish flags and posters of “Long live Spain” and “Thank you Spain for not keeping silent.”
“Thank you, Spain, for not being silent. For seeing the truth and not looking back. Thank you for not being in the dark, for always choosing humanity. Thank you for shouting ‘no to this war’, for not selling your soul to anyone. Shared history, future too. Today you are with us, tomorrow too,” says the chorus of the song.
Mawa is a state-owned production company specializing in the production of religious and nationalist videos from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Government’s refusal to use the Morón and Rota bases
The United States and Israel launched a war against Iran on February 28 in attacks that lasted until April 8, when a truce was imposed that continues to this day amid negotiations that are not progressing.
After the beginning of the attacks, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, rejected the military action, considering that it “contributes to a more uncertain and hostile international order”, and refused to authorize the use of US bases in Spanish territory, in Morón and Rota, in military operations against Tehran.
