The PDP Criticizes President Buhari for Failing to Visit Abule Ado Explosion Victims

PDP slams President Buhari for not visiting victims of Abule Ado explosion

The President’s response to the Abule-Ado explosion in Lagos State has been labeled “embarrassing” by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued by spokesperson Kola Ologbondiyan on Tuesday, the PDP condemned President Buhari for his failure to visit Lagos and show support to the victims.

The party denounced the President’s decision to stay at the Aso Presidential Villa and wait to be presented with photographs of the incident, instead of personally identifying with the victims through a visit.

Here is an excerpt from the statement:

The PDP has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to abandon his lackadaisical approach to governance and the welfare of Nigerians and immediately travel to Lagos to reassure the nation following the devastating Abule-Ado explosion that resulted in fatalities, injuries, and rendered many homeless.

The party expressed disappointment in the Buhari Presidency’s reluctance to proactively address national issues without the need for reminders, resulting in leadership failures and various problems over the last five years.

The PDP also called for a comprehensive investigation into the recent explosions, particularly the Abule-Ado disaster, due to conflicting reports on the cause of the incident.

The Abule Ado explosion on Sunday, March 15, claimed the lives of 18 individuals and destroyed over 50 houses.
