The Key Role of Mentorship in Empowering Women Entrepreneurs

Women entrepreneurs can achieve significant success through effective leadership and mentorship, according to the Champions Women Entrepreneurs Mentoring Association.

At a recent capacity-building workshop in Lagos, the association highlighted the importance of these factors.

During the event, Angela Ajala, the National Coordinator of the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network, underscored the value of networking platforms and opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

She shared how networking has benefited many entrepreneurs by providing access to training, resources, knowledge, and skills.

Noruwa Edokpolor, a certified expert in organisation development, emphasized that leadership skills involve inspiring, influencing, and guiding individuals and teams toward a shared goal.

He outlined qualities such as vision, integrity, empathy, and decisiveness as essential for driving organizational success and discussed strategies for overcoming personal development barriers.

Olakitan Wellington, the President of CWEMA, explained that the workshop, themed ‘Female Entrepreneurs in An Emerging Economy,’ aimed to prepare prospective female entrepreneurs to navigate business challenges.

Wellington, who also serves as the national secretary of the Association of Nigerian Women Business Network, emphasized, “The capacity-building workshop plays a vital role in supporting the business community, promoting investment, stimulating economic growth for women, and addressing the significant challenges faced by business and professional women hindering their growth and sustainability.”
