Outstanding Achievement: Nnadozie named Best Goalkeeper in French League

Securing a remarkable victory, Chiamaka Nnadozie has been declared the top goalkeeper in the prestigious French D1 Arkema league for women.

Earning this esteemed title, Nnadozie has become the initial African, specifically Nigerian, to be bestowed with such an individual honor.

This remarkable achievement solidifies her position as one of the premier goalkeepers globally.

In surpassing the competition, the 23-year-old triumphed over notables such as Christiane Endler from Olympic Lyon and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek from Paris SG to clinch the coveted award.

Nnadozie is renowned for her exceptional prowess in saving penalties, a skill she admirably demonstrated this season by warding off an impressive total of seven penalties, the highest across Europe.

During the ceremony, Paris FC president Pierre Ferracci lauded Nnadozie’s performance, expressing his belief that she was a deserving recipient of the award.

He remarked, “Her success is truly gratifying, as she has exhibited tremendous talent not only in penalty saves but also in other aspects, notably during an outstanding Champions League campaign.”

Showing admiration for the goalkeeper, Ferracci added, “She is an absolute delight, and her recognition is unquestionably merited. While aware of the attention she may attract in the upcoming transfer window, we are committed to retaining her within our ranks.”

In the current league standings, Paris FC holds the third position with 42 points, trailing eight points behind local rivals Paris Saint-Germain and a further 11 points adrift of Lyon, the league leaders.
