‘Tchouaméni points out his team’s shortcomings’ – France midfielder reflects on loss to Germany

Reflecting on their recent international friendly match, France midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni did not shy away from critiquing himself and his fellow teammates following their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Germany.

Speaking about the match at the Groupama Stadium, the Real Madrid player acknowledged that Didier Deschamps’ team was clearly outperformed by the German side.

Tchouaméni expressed his disappointment at their inability to execute their game plan during the game, stressing the need for improvement on both an individual and collective level.

The French team found themselves trailing just 10 seconds into the game after a remarkable goal by Florian Wirtz. Kai Havertz later scored Germany’s second goal early in the second half.

During a post-match interview with TF1, Tchouaméni remarked, “I believe we were outplayed in every aspect. Our game plan couldn’t materialize against such a strong opponent. We must raise our performance levels, both individually and as a team. This defeat serves as a wakeup call.”

He further added, “Despite this setback, it’s crucial not to panic. We acknowledge our abilities and remain confident in our potential.”
