Super Eagles Midfielder’s Goal against Southampton Praised by Matt Piper as Killer Blow

Former Leicester City player Matt Piper has hailed Wilfred Ndidi’s goal against Southampton as a decisive moment in the game.

In a 5-0 victory at the King Power Stadium, Ndidi, Abdul Fatawu, and Jamie Vardy all got on the scoresheet for Enzo Maresca’s team.

Following this result, Leicester City has now moved four points clear at the top of the table with just two games remaining.

It was Stephy Mavididi’s cross that set up Ndidi for the goal, which he headed in from close range.

Reflecting on the goal, Piper commented on BBC Radio, “The crowd appeared frustrated when Jamie Vardy decided not to take the shot immediately. They felt he should have gone for it sooner.

“However, the timely intervention from Wilfred Ndidi, scoring his sixth goal of the season, proved to be a major setback for Southampton. It truly dealt a blow to their hopes.”
