Prince Harry Makes US His New Home, Renounces British Residency

As his relationship with the British royal family continues to strain, Prince Harry has formally renounced his British residency.

The Duke of Sussex has selected the United States as his primary place of residence.

Details from Page Six reveal that Harry has identified the US as his “new country/state usually resident,” marking a significant departure from his previous ties to the UK.

According to documents filed by Companies House for Harry’s eco-travel initiative, Travalyst, the shift in residency was officially recorded on June 29, 2023, following Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from Frogmore Cottage in the UK the day before.

This legal action comes amidst ongoing deliberations regarding the couple’s position within the royal family and their forthcoming plans.

While the potential implications on Harry’s royal titles due to renouncing his British residency remain uncertain, there are speculations that he may address this matter during an upcoming visit to London.

Harry has expressed mixed feelings about his ties to the UK, acknowledging it as his “home” but highlighting safety concerns that influenced their move to the US.

In December 2023, the Duke of Sussex underscored the significance of his children’s heritage and security while in the UK, despite their current dwelling in the US.

Nevertheless, he has indicated an interest in acquiring American citizenship, though he currently considers it a secondary priority.

In light of revelations about his past drug use as documented in his memoir ‘Spare,’ questions arise about the ease of his immigration process.

While some legal experts downplay any major repercussions unless he encounters additional legal complications, there are lingering concerns about possible outcomes, including the prospect of relinquishing his royal titles to satisfy US citizenship prerequisites.
