The National Sports Festival Edo 2020 has been postponed by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Confirmation of the postponement came from Sunday Dare, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development FGN, who announced the decision on Twitter after a briefing with President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of State for Health, Adeleke Mamora.
In his tweet, he stated: “Following the briefing of Mr. President from myself and the Minister of State for Health on COVID 19, Mr. President approved the immediate postponement of Edo Sports festival to a future date.’
This action was taken subsequent to the confirmation of a third case of coronavirus in Nigeria by the Lagos State Ministry of Health.
