Police Confirm: Archbishop, Wife, and Others Kidnapped in Anambra, Not Abia

ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Police Public Relations Officer of Abia State Police Command, clarified that the recent kidnapping of Archbishop Bishop Uka Uka Osim of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star occurred in Anambra State, not Abia.

In response to the incident, a Bishop from the Church in Aba verified the abduction but did not disclose the exact location where the priests were taken in Anambra.

The police spokesperson mentioned, “Our investigation shows that the Archbishop’s alleged abduction happened in Anambra State, as confirmed by a Bishop from the church in Aba.”

Reportedly, Archbishop Uka Uka Osim, his wife Ann, son Roland Uka Osim, and three other church priests were kidnapped while traveling from Abia State to Awka, Anambra State for a church event.

The Abia Police spokesperson clarified that the incident occurred outside of Abia State.

Furthermore, the ongoing investigation is addressing the recent abduction of Mr. Chibuzor Moses by criminals in Umuojima, Osisioma Ngwa LGA of Abia State.

Mr. Moses, a businessman, was pursued and taken by hoodlums into a church premises at Umuojima before being taken to an undisclosed location.

The PPRO confirmed the abduction, stating, “We have received reports at Osisioma Police Division, and investigations are currently in progress.”
