‘NFF hasn’t contacted me’ – Peseiro finally speaks about possible Super Eagles return

Regarding the speculation around his return as the head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro clarified that no one has reached out to him.

In an interview with Soccernet, the Portuguese coach made it clear that he has not been in touch with the Nigeria Football Federation.

After his contract with the NFF ended in February, Peseiro stepped down from his role.

Subsequently, a vacancy for the position was announced by the NFF, with contenders like Emmanuel Amunike and Michael Nsien being considered.

Additionally, three European coaches – Danny Bujis, Domenec Torrent, and Toni Conceicao – were shortlisted for the role.

Despite rumors suggesting Peseiro could be asked to return, the 63-year-old coach dismissed them, asserting that neither the Ministry of Sports nor the NFF has made any contact with him.

He mentioned that he is presently enjoying his vacation while keeping up with matches, notably upcoming games involving Real Madrid.
