In a significant development, a warrant for the arrest of former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has been secured by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as part of preparations for his upcoming arraignment on Thursday.
The warrant was authorized by Justice Emeka Nwite in Abuja on Wednesday afternoon following a request from the EFCC.
This development comes in response to a conflicting ruling from a Kogi State High Court which had previously blocked the EFCC from taking any action against the ex-governor, including arrest, detention, or prosecution.
