Individual in Court for Allegedly Stealing N1.2m from Deceased Man’s Bank Account

Charged before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, a 30-year-old man named John Timothy is accused of stealing N1.2 million from a deceased man’s bank account.

Facing charges of conspiracy and theft, Timothy, whose address remains undisclosed, allegedly committed the offences between May 17, 2021, and July 21, 2021, as stated by the prosecutor, Olalekan Adegbite.

Adegbite claimed that the defendant illicitly took N1.2 million from the Access Bank account of the late Mr. Johnson David, a fact discovered by the deceased’s son, Mr. Daniel David.

In violation of Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000, the prosecutor presented the charges.

Magistrate Oluwabusayo Osho granted the defendant bail set at N500,000, with two sureties required to provide the same amount.

The case is adjourned until May 7 for further proceedings, as decided by Magistrate Osho.
