Man, 25, receives life sentence for sodomizing boy in Jigawa

In Jigawa, a 25-year-old man has been given a life sentence for the rape and sodomy of a 10-year-old boy. The verdict was handed down by Justice Musa Ubale at a State High Court.

Identified only as Aminu Ali, the convict, who resides in Aukayawa Quarters in Gwaram Local Government Area, was found guilty based on the presentation of five witnesses and four exhibits by the prosecution, which included a medical report confirming his actions “beyond reasonable doubt.”

The prosecution successfully argued that Ali enticed the victim and committed anal intercourse with him.

Justice Ubale, in delivering the judgment, affirmed that the prosecution had unequivocally proven the case against Ali.

Consequently, Ali was handed a life sentence in accordance with Section 3 (2&4) of the Violence Against Person Prohibition Law of Jigawa State (VAPP LAW).

The judge also notified the convict of his right to appeal the sentence within three months.
