Governor Lawal’s Call for Quick Completion of Zamfara Dam Projects

In a recent meeting with the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsav, Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, urged the Federal Government to hasten the completion and operationalization of the dam projects currently underway in the state.

During the discussion, Lawal highlighted the importance of these projects in providing a reliable water source for the state’s growing population, emphasizing the need for their swift execution.

According to a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, essential topics related to water projects in Zamfara were deliberated, underscoring their potential to boost agricultural output and drive overall economic progress.

“The Governor stressed the significance of adequate federal funding to finalize these projects, given their crucial role in tackling water scarcity in the state and fostering socio-economic advancement,” mentioned Idris.

Furthermore, Governor Lawal appealed for the prompt completion and optimal utilization of the dam projects to expand irrigation farming opportunities,” Idris added.

Assurances were given by the minister to Governor Lawal regarding the dispatch of a team of specialists to Zamfara for a comprehensive assessment of the water conditions and necessary recommendations.
