An infamous terrorists’ leader, Junaidu Fasagora, along with numerous of his fighters, met their end in Zamfara State at the hands of the Nigerian Army troops.
During a counterinsurgency operation in the Tsafe general area of the state, the troops successfully neutralized the terrorist and his associates on Wednesday.
The Nigerian Army, in an official statement shared through its designated X handle, disclosed that Junaidu Fasagora and his terrorist group had been the culprits behind a string of kidnappings and terrorist activities spanning various states in the North West region.
As per the statement: “Nigerian Army soldiers operating in Zamfara State for counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency missions in the North West Region have decisively dealt with a notorious terrorist leader, Junaidu Fasagora, and a considerable number of his accomplices following intense artillery bombardment and a ground battle in the Tsafe general area of Zamfara State.
“Junaidu Fasagora and his group of terrorists have long been engaged in numerous kidnappings and other terror acts against the people in multiple states in the North West region.
“The elimination of these individuals signals a significant triumph in the battle against terrorism and insurgency.
“The troops are unwavering in their commitment to maintain the ongoing operations against terrorism, insurgency, and various crimes to ensure the restoration of safety and security in affected areas”.
