Xavi Hernandez, the Barcelona manager, has now explained the reasons behind his change of heart regarding his departure from the LaLiga club.
Initially, Xavi had announced his intention to step down as head coach in the summer, despite having a contract with the club until 2025.
In a surprising turn of events, Xavi has now opted to remain with Barcelona after a meeting with the club’s president, Joan Laporta, and other senior officials.
The 44-year-old former Spain midfielder has shared insight into his decision to continue at the club.
“I made a reversal because of the overwhelming confidence shown by the president, the board, and the players. This project is still ongoing,” Xavi explained.
“My team and I believe that we have the strength to achieve great things together and carry forward this project,” he added.
