Reports indicate that the Anambra State Police Command successfully repelled an armed attack near the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli, located in the Ihiala local government area of the state.
According to sources, the gunmen had been active for two consecutive nights, instilling fear amongst the local residents and prompting many to consider relocating. Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, mentioned that the assailants fired multiple shots in the vicinity of the university campus in Uli.
Ikenga stated, “Efforts are underway to apprehend the criminals. Additional law enforcement personnel, as well as operational and intelligence assets, have been dispatched to bolster security around the university and its surroundings.
Fortunately, there were no reported casualties, and peace and order have been restored in the region.” Ikenga reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering dedication to upholding law and order, as well as ensuring the security and well-being of the local residents and the state as a whole.
