In a statement, Mohbad’s father denies telling Primeboy to flee following his son’s death

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has refuted accusations of orchestrating an escape for Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy, after his son’s passing.

Reacting to claims made by the deceased’s mother, Bosede Adeyemo, Aloba clarified that he had not encountered Primeboy since the incident.

Adeyemo alleged in the interview that her ex-husband instructed Primeboy, a childhood friend of Mohbad, to flee to avoid arrest and any involvement in the singer’s demise.

However, Mohbad’s father, through his lawyer Monisola Odumosu, stated that he had only met Primeboy once, at the coroner’s court.

The statement emphasized, “Our client asserts that he has not engaged in any discussions regarding his son’s death with Primeboy since the unfortunate incident.

“Their only interaction after Mohbad’s demise was at the coroner’s court, where they exchanged pleasantries in public, with no substantive conversation.”

Disputing Adeyemo’s claims, the statement reiterated Mohbad’s father’s pursuit of justice for his late son.

“Mr. Joseph Aloba remains committed to seeking justice for his beloved son, without shielding anyone, however influential. The truth will prevail in due course,” the statement affirmed.

“We urge the public to disregard baseless allegations and encourage Ms. Adeyemo to disclose any pertinent information she may have regarding Mohbad’s death.”

Mohbad was signed under Marlian Records, headed by Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.

Following Mohbad’s passing, Marley and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, were apprehended and questioned by the Lagos State Police Command to provide insights on the situation.

Primeboy was at large before surrendering to the state police on October 4, 2023, and subsequently visited the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, on March 12, accompanied by Ayobami Fisayo, also known as Spending.

During his involvement in Mohbad’s case, Primeboy’s bail conditions required him to report to the State CID every Tuesday as a precaution against absconding, as stated by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.
