Governor Uzodimma Issues Stern Warning Against Corruption to Appointees

In Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma has made it clear that corruption will not be tolerated, cautioning commissioner-designates and other political appointees

that immediate dismissal and prosecution await anyone found guilty of corrupt practices.

This stern warning was delivered by Uzodimma on Wednesday at the opening of a two-day retreat organized for his appointees in preparation for their inauguration, taking place at the Imo State Data Centre in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

He emphasized the importance of fully grasping and embodying the principles of the 3R shared prosperity administration, centered on rehabilitation, reconstruction, and recovery.

The governor emphasized the administration’s focus on recognizing achievements rather than engaging in a blame game, highlighting that the retreat aims to foster unity among the appointees for collective success, as “the success of one is the success of all.”

Uzodimma conveyed the expectation of honest and diligent service delivery to the people as a core aspect of good governance, selecting the appointees based on their individual values and potential contributions.

Stressing the need for unwavering loyalty to him as the governor and leader of the Imo State Government, the governor reminded them that they are accountable primarily to him and urged them to prioritize their loyalty, as “identity holds significant value.”
