Good news from Kebbi as security forces liberate two kidnap victims

It was a successful operation as a collaborative security team recently rescued two individuals who had been kidnapped by suspected bandits in Suru and Maiyama local government areas of Kebbi.

The rescue mission involved personnel from the Nigerian Army, NSCDC, DSS, and local vigilante groups.

Speaking to reporters in Birnin Kebbi, AbdulRahman Zagga, the Director of Security Service at the Cabinet Office, credited Governor Nasir Idris for providing essential support and resources to the security agencies, which led to the successful operation.

“Thanks to Governor Dr. Nasir Idris’s unwavering support to the security agencies in Kebbi, a joint team was able to save two kidnapping victims,” Zagga stated.

Detailing the operation, Zagga mentioned tracking the bandits’ movements from Giro forest through Boma and finally to Zugu Liba forest, where the victims were located and rescued.

The relentless security pressure forced the kidnappers to abandon their captives, Zagga added.

The rescued victims were safely handed over to the village head and the vigilante chairman of Zugu Liba village for eventual reunification with their families.

Urging the public to provide valuable information to aid the security forces in addressing the insecurity challenges within the state, Zagga emphasized the importance of community support.
