Frontline Areas Embankment Initiatives Directed by Jigawa Governor, Namadi

Urgent action has been ordered by Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi for the commencement of embankment projects in frontline areas throughout the state.

In a statement released to NewsNow by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on media affairs, Hajiya Zainab Shua’aibu Rabo Ringim, it was revealed that the Governor instructed the state Ministry of Environment to take immediate measures to prevent flooding this year.

Emphasizing the importance of these actions, the Governor highlighted the necessity of curbing the annual flooding occurrences to safeguard the lives and properties of the citizens.

He stressed the need to relocate all necessary materials for embanking frontline areas across the state swiftly.

Furthermore, a nine-member committee has been established to engage with communities and seek their cooperation and support.

Dr. Nura Ibrahim, the Commissioner of Environment, mentioned that ministry officials had conducted assessments in frontline areas to identify effective measures to mitigate flooding.
