Fourteen suspected cultists paraded by Imo Police with arms and ammunition recovery

The Imo State Police Command recently displayed 14 individuals believed to be part of the clandestine Black Axe group.

According to ASP Okoye Henry, the Command’s Public Relations officer, the gang was actively engaged in cult-related activities until law enforcement unearthed their hiding spots.

“The apprehension of these suspects was a result of a well-informed raid on a suspected criminal enclave in Irete, Owerri West LGA of Imo State, as part of the routine trust-building patrol by the Command. Items seized from the suspects include: one locally crafted single barrel firearm, two live cartridges, and other damning evidence,” he mentioned.

The apprehended suspects are currently in police custody, with investigations underway to track down other members of the group and the supplier of the homemade gun.

“After the investigation is concluded, the suspects will face trial in court,” he remarked.

Simultaneously, the Police Commissioner advised parents and guardians to warn their children against involvement in cult activities and any other illegal behaviors.
