Father of Deceased Lady in Abuja Suspects Foul Play: Margaret Atayi

Patrick Atayi, the father of Margaret Oyibo Atayi, a young lady from Benue who was tragically found dead in Abuja, has expressed his disbelief and confusion regarding his daughter’s sudden demise.

After being reported missing by her family, Margaret, a mother of two, was discovered deceased just days later.

Contrary to the speculation of suicide following a marriage breakdown, Atayi disclosed in an exclusive interview with NewsNow at his residence that the Atayi family is currently in limbo regarding the circumstances surrounding Margaret’s death.

He stated, “Our family is currently grieving and waiting for a thorough investigation to shed light on the situation before we can provide a definitive explanation. We are still in the dark about what really transpired. Once the investigation concludes, we can provide a clear position.”

“Margaret, who was only 27 years old, left behind two children. We are grappling with the unknown and are perplexed by the situation. It remains an enigma to us. We have encountered various versions in the media. I haven’t engaged with the press. The information circulating can be described as speculative journalism.” Atayi added.

When pressed about whether Margaret’s death was a suicide or a murder, Atayi responded, “As I mentioned earlier, until the investigation is completed, drawing conclusions is premature as the possibility of murder cannot be dismissed.

“The family will wait for the official report from relevant authorities to derive a conclusion about the situation. For now, we are keeping all possibilities open. It is uncertain whether it was murder or suicide.”
