Exciting News: Security Vehicles to Be Unveiled by Gov Ododo for Community Policing

On Friday, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, will introduce a new fleet of security vehicles to improve the effectiveness of community policing across all local government areas in the state.

A recent statement by the Governor’s Special Media Adviser, Ismaila Isah, highlighted that the upcoming distribution of the new security vehicles to all 21 local government areas is part of the effort to strengthen the community policing initiative led by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo through the Kogi State vigilante service.

These new vehicles are also a key component of the strategic plan to establish a fresh framework for community policing within the security setup of Kogi State.

Furthermore, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has lauded the recent anti-crime operations carried out by security forces in Kogi East to combat criminal activities in the region.

The Governor specifically commended the efforts of John Urah Ikani, the caretaker chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, for apprehending a group of kidnappers who had allegedly been summoned to Ochaja from a state in the North West by a fugitive kingpin associated with kidnapping.

According to the statement, the apprehended suspects, who are cooperating with security authorities by providing crucial information, were captured by the vigilant members in the Ochaja vicinity during a routine patrol. They have since confessed to collaborating with the notorious kidnapping mastermind, known for causing fear among residents in the areas between Dekina and Ankpa local government areas.

Encouraging all caretaker chairmen of local government areas in the state to prioritize the safety of residents and properties within their jurisdictions, Governor Ododo emphasized the importance of crime prevention over the pursuit of criminals after incidents have occurred.

Assuring continuous support from the state government to guarantee the security of lives and properties across all corners of Kogi State, Governor Ododo reiterated his administration’s commitment to this cause.
