Enugu State Receives 1,000 NSCDC Personnel for Easter Peacekeeping Operation


Ensuring a safe Easter celebration, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has dispatched 1,000 officers to Enugu State to combat crime and maintain peace.

Mr. Cyprian Otoibhi, the Commandant of NSCDC Enugu State, announced this strategic deployment of personnel in his Easter message delivered on Friday.

He emphasized the readiness of the command’s Rapid Response Patrol teams to swiftly address any criminal activities by troublemakers looking to disrupt the peaceful Easter festivities.

Otoibhi’s singular directive to his team is clear: safeguard the residents’ safety throughout the Easter period at all costs.

He reassured the public of the NSCDC’s absolute dedication to their safety and security during the Easter celebrations.

To ensure a smooth and tranquil Easter celebration in 2024, over 1,000 well-trained personnel, including armed and plainclothes officers, have been strategically positioned across the state, as disclosed by the commandant.

Highlighting that security is a collective responsibility, he urged everyone to stay vigilant constantly.

The State’s NSCDC leader offered practical security tips to enhance residents’ safety during the festive period.

Residents were advised to stay alert of their surroundings and promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest security personnel.

Providing actionable intelligence to help security agencies preempt and thwart potential security threats was encouraged.

Residents were also reminded to avoid crowded places and late-night excursions, secure their homes and valuables before attending Easter gatherings, and remain updated with local news and security alerts.

The commandant expressed appreciation to Governor Peter Mbah for his steadfast commitment to ensuring Enugu State remains a safe haven for all residents and visitors.
