Omega Power Ministry Leader Reacts to DStv Subscription Increase

Expressing his dissatisfaction, General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has made it clear that he will not be renewing his DStv subscription following the recent price surge.

This decision comes after Multichoice Nigeria announced a price increment for its DStv and GOtv packages effective from May 1.

According to the pay-TV company, customers on the DStv premium bouquet will now pay N37,000 instead of the previous N29,500, while Compact+ subscribers will be charged N25,000 up from N19,800.

Compact bouquet users will see their subscription fee rise to N15,700 from N12,500.

For Confam, Yanga, and Padi packages, subscribers will now have to pay N9,300, N5,100, and N3,600 respectively, up from N7,400, N4,200, and N2,950.

This development has sparked outrage among customers who are struggling with the current economic challenges.

In a recent Facebook post, the OPM founder declared his stance, stating that he will hold off on renewing his DStv subscription until there is a price adjustment.

In his words, “Considering the economic situation in Nigeria, many people are finding it difficult to afford the current DStv/GOtv subscription fees.

Therefore, I have decided not to renew my DSTV subscription at the current price. Instead, I will explore alternative viewing options. My primary need is news and OPM TV, a 24-hour station that I watch when I have the chance.

“Until DSTV revises their pricing, I will not be renewing my subscription. It’s a firm NO from me.”
