Insight: Napoli receives counsel on ideal Chelsea player for possible Osimhen swap deal

Carlo Javomuzzi, a former Napoli sporting director, recommends the club pursue Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk in a potential exchange for Victor Osimhen.

The feasibility of this suggestion rests on both clubs coming to an agreement for a swap deal.

Recent reports circulating in Italy have hinted at the inclusion of Romelu Lukaku in the talks concerning the Osimhen swap arrangement.

Lukaku, notably, managed only 15 goals in 59 appearances during his stint at Stamford Bridge before finding better form with 20 goals in 44 matches for Roma.

Following two loan spells, Lukaku might be on the verge of a permanent departure from Chelsea this summer.

Despite Nicolas Jackson emerging as Chelsea’s primary forward this season, he has struggled to meet the anticipated performance levels, netting just 13 Premier League goals.

Osimhen, who played a pivotal role in securing the Serie A title for the Italian outfit, has attracted interest from Chelsea, setting off speculations around a potential swap deal involving strikers from both sides.

Jacomuzzi, in a departure from advocating for Lukaku, prefers pushing for the inclusion of Mudryk as part of the Osimhen exchange.

Expressing his viewpoint via SportWitness, he stated, “Chelsea’s summer operations could take unexpected turns. Acquiring Osimhen through a buyout clause would not surprise me. Regarding finances, Chelsea seems well-equipped. Would Lukaku be a viable trade? I would opt for Mudryk in exchange for Osimhen.”
