Commendation for NCC Chief, Maida, for his Focused and Transparent Leadership

The efforts of Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, in revitalizing the telecoms sector have been widely praised.

Recognizing the reforms introduced by the EVC to enhance stakeholder confidence and attract more investments in critical telecoms infrastructure, Citizens Watch Africa, CWA, applauded his leadership.

In a media briefing held on Tuesday, the group emphasized the importance of promoting transparency and accountability within the NCC operations for the growth and development of the communication sector in Nigeria, noting Maida’s dedication to these essential aspects.

Pastor Dave Ogbole, the convener of the group, highlighted the renewed emphasis on transparency and accountability under Maida’s leadership at the NCC.

According to him, “This has led to an enhancement in the organization’s governance processes. The commitment of the NCC leadership to ensuring fair competition among all industry players is evident.”

He further stated, “The recent initiatives at the NCC have positioned the agency for increased productivity, especially through stakeholder engagement efforts aimed at gathering and analyzing feedback to enhance the sector.”

The group commended the NCC leadership for their dedication and commitment to fulfilling their key mandate, which has resulted in a steady rise in active voice and internet subscriptions, alongside a decrease in teledensity.

“These trends demonstrate the NCC’s renewed commitment to revitalizing the sector. Citizens Watch Africa acknowledges the skill and dedication of Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, for implementing commendable policies to reinvigorate the telecoms industry.”

The group encouraged Maida to “maintain the exceptional leadership needed at this crucial juncture of our development to drive sustainable growth and progress.”
