China’s Response to Spy Case: Summoning of German Ambassador

Following the recent arrests of suspected Chinese spies, China’s Foreign Ministry has summoned the German ambassador, Patricia Flor, to address the situation.

Flor, writing on her X handle, revealed that she was called in after the arrest of four Germans accused of spying for Chinese secret services.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, confirmed the summoning of the ambassador, refuting any involvement by China and urging the German government to avoid harming bilateral relations. He dismissed the allegations as baseless.

During the meeting, Flor emphasized Germany’s commitment to safeguarding democracy and assured that any investigation would be conducted without political interference.

She asserted, “Espionage from any country is not tolerated in Germany.”
