Chair of Kano anti-corruption agency reveals pressure to investigate Governor Yusuf

Reports emerged on Tuesday that Muhuyi Magaji, the Chairman of the Kano State Anti-Corruption and Public Complaints Commission, has disclosed that he is facing pressure from certain individuals to launch an investigation into the current governor of Kano, Abba Yusuf.

Magaji indicated that his scrutiny began with the former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, who currently serves as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During his appearance on the Sunrise Daily program on Channels Television, Magaji emphasized his commitment to prosecuting any alleged corruption from the previous administration, despite being appointed by Ganduje to lead the agency.

Expressing his stance, the state’s anti-graft chief mentioned, “We are not eager to prosecute Ganduje,” underscoring the importance of holding public officials accountable.

When questioned about the potential investigation of the current governor, Magaji responded, “There is a push from certain quarters for that.”
