Enraged Gov Mbah vows to take action following Nimbo attack


The recent attack in Nimbo resulting in the death of four natives has been deemed unacceptable by Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah. He expressed determination to bring the attackers to justice, stating that the government would not tolerate such incidents any longer.

Following the tragic incident on Sunday night which claimed four lives and left many others injured, Mbah emphasized the need for improved security in Nimbo and across the entire Uzo Uwani LGA, promising collaboration with community and security stakeholders.

During a visit to Nimbo on Monday, Governor Mbah, accompanied by various security officials, assured the community of decisive action. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens and vowed to track down and prosecute the culprits responsible for the attack.

Mbah reiterated, “We will deploy all necessary resources, including the law and security forces, to guarantee your security. Such senseless killings will not be tolerated, and we will not rest until justice is served.”

Governor Mbah also pledged to address the community’s concerns, including integration into government and enhancing local security measures. He assured that the government would support the victims and their families, offering scholarships, job opportunities, and assistance to alleviate their suffering.

Meanwhile, the President-General of Nimbo, Mr. Clement Akachukwu, highlighted the longstanding vulnerability of the community to attacks due to its remote location. He called for the reinforcement of Nimbo Neighbourhood Watch and Forest Guards, emphasizing the need for continuous vigilance to prevent further incidents.

Akachukwu urged the government to involve the community in decision-making processes and appointments, stressing the importance of local empowerment and security enhancements.
