Luis Rubiales’s Mother Hospitalized After Going on Hunger Strike

Luis Rubiales's mother, Angeles Bejar, has been admitted to the hospital after going without food for 50 hours. In protest of what she deems as 'inhumane' treatment of her son, the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Bejar, a retired hairdresser, has been on a hunger strike inside Divina Pastora de Motril in Granada since Monday morning and has refused to leave. On Wednesday evening, Father Antonio, a priest, announced that the woman had been hospitalized due to not eating or drinking for 50 hours. She had been taking only water along with her medication. Speaking to the gathered Spanish media outside the church, Father Antonio stated, "She was not feeling well because of the heat and everything else. Her feet had become swollen, and she was very tired and nervous."
