Police in Bauchi intensify efforts to apprehend killers of teenage boy

In their pursuit of justice, the Bauchi State Police Command has made a firm commitment to uncover the circumstances surrounding the murder of a young boy, Muhammad Musa Abideen, who was only 18 months old.

A special investigative committee, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP Yakubu Mohammed from the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID, has been established to thoroughly investigate this tragic incident.

Just recently, the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, ordered the immediate closure of the school where Musa’s lifeless body was discovered, with some of his vital organs missing, suggesting the involvement of suspected ritualists.

A police investigation has revealed that the toddler was in the company of his mother, Saudatu Abideen (21 years old) of Bakin Kura Street in Bauchi metropolis, when he went missing on August 19, 2023.

According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Police, SP Ahmed Wakil, the remains of the deceased were found dumped in a soak-away located in the Games Village area of Bauchi metropolis, believed to be the work of the suspected ritualists.

Wakil further stated that the child’s parents have already laid him to rest.

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, strongly condemned the heinous act perpetrated by these unidentified criminals and promised to identify and apprehend them, ensuring that the law takes its course.

The CP affirmed that the command is actively tracking down the individuals suspected of carrying out this gruesome murder and pledged to leave no stone unturned until justice is served for the victim.
