Anambra Police Station Set Ablaze by Hoodlums

Reports indicate that unidentified assailants have burned down the police divisional headquarters in Nneni, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.

In the early hours of Thursday, the hoodlums infiltrated the facility and hurled explosive devices, causing damage to parts of the building.

According to a resident in the area, the assailants were trying to free some inmates at the facility. However, their attempt was thwarted by police officers on duty.

State police command spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, acknowledged the attack but assured that there were no casualties.

“In Nneni, there were no loss of lives. No police officers were kidnapped, and no firearms were taken. Instead, the attackers threw explosives into the police facility, resulting in damage to a section of the building.

“Our officers bravely repelled the assailants, forcing them to retreat. Operations are still in progress, and any further updates will be shared,” said Ikenga.
