Enhanced Security Measures Implemented in Edo for Easter

The Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Funsho Adegboye, has instructed police heads at various locations in the state to strengthen security measures in anticipation of the Easter festivities.

A statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, revealed that the directive was given during a meeting with the command’s management team on Thursday.

Assuring the public of a smooth celebration, the commissioner extended his Easter greetings to the Christian community for marking the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Specifically, he emphasized the need for the officer in charge of Motor Traffic Division to deploy personnel strategically in areas prone to traffic congestion to facilitate smooth flow of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Additionally, the Police Marine Officer was tasked with overseeing security on waterways and ensuring the safety of travelers utilizing water-based transportation services,” Nwabuzor noted.

The commissioner also urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their surroundings to the nearest police stations or other relevant security agencies.
