Call for Cooperation in Alleged Fraud Case: PDP Chieftain Advises Yahaya Bello to Surrender to Authorities

In response to the recent arrest of former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Delta State Gubernatorial aspirant, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has urged Bello to present himself to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for investigation.

Onuesoke emphasized the importance of Bello cooperating with the authorities, citing examples of other prominent figures like former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose who have willingly complied with EFCC requests.

Expressing his disapproval of the police officers who obstructed the EFCC from apprehending Bello, Onuesoke called for the immediate withdrawal of the officers and their prosecution for impeding justice.

The incident occurred when EFCC operatives attempted to arrest Bello at his Abuja residence but were barred by police officers and armed individuals identified as “Special Forces.”

Onuesoke asserted that no one is above the law and urged Bello to address the allegations against him by openly engaging with the EFCC.
