Akwa Ibom Governor To Name Assistants From All Wards

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has pledged to implement extensive rural development initiatives. He emphasized that his government will ensure that every one of the 329 wards in the 31 local government areas appoints a personal aide to oversee rural development projects.

Consequently, he called on all political appointees and other individuals serving in public positions to establish a presence in their communities. This step is intended to facilitate the efficient execution of grassroots policies aimed at addressing socio-economic challenges at the third level of government.

In a meeting with stakeholders, including leaders and elders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Uyo, the state capital, Eno expressed his determination to build upon the development framework implemented by his predecessor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.

He stated, “Rural development will be a major priority of my administration as the second item on the ‘Arise Agenda.’ The government will encourage individuals to return to their hometowns to stimulate development.”
