During his speech from the White House, the Republican president went so far as to assure that both media outlets “are part of a plot” that seeks to perpetuate electoral fraud in the country.
In a highly hostile tone, the magnate defended that this denial of news coverage is so serious that “it should lead to the immediate revocation of their broadcast licenses” for the free use of an airwave network valued at billions of dollars.
For the American leader, the two television corporations were fully aware of the content of his appearance and chose to deliberately silence it so as not to reveal the corruption of the system.
Trump asserted that these networks and other allied media act in a coordinated manner to favor and “protect the radical left” of the country, preventing citizens from accessing necessary information.
The president insisted that “you cannot have a great country without free and fair elections,” justifying his harsh attacks with the argument that his only intention is to demand honesty both in the elections and in the flows of public information, according to sources from Europe Press.
Legislative pressure and accusations of foreign interference
The main objective of Trump’s controversial appearance was to pressure the Senate to approve the electoral reform promoted by his Government, named Save Americaahead of the legislative elections on November 3.
The president justified the urgency of this rule by claiming to have declassified intelligence reports that reveal that China illicitly obtained the data of 220 million American voters in 2020.
However, the documents released by the White House confirm the theft of these records, but in no case do they demonstrate that the electoral results of that year were manipulated or altered.
The decision of networks such as ABC, NBC or CNN not to broadcast the message live responded precisely to the fear of amplifying conspiracy theories without real basis, a position that, according to the archive of EFEformer Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris had already anticipated when she warned that Trump would use the speech to “sell lies.”
