The defeat of the Iranians is not the only defeat that worries Donald Trump. There are also algae. Above all there are algae. And here there is no doubt that they are winning. The US president has once again said that there are no limits to his power. But algae are not easily intimidated no matter how much Trump threatens them as he did this weekend with the Iranians.
He has threatened to kidnap them (the Iranians, not the seaweed). He has told them in the middle of the peace negotiations that if they close Hormuz he will attack Iran even harder and that they will not be able to return to their damned country. Kidnapping or extermination? In short, the Iranians got angry, closed Hormuz and withdrew from the peace negotiations for a while.
The algae, however, do not take a step back. Just look at Washington’s most famous pond, where Martin Luther King gave his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. With Iran there is a division of opinion. Not with algae. Trump is making even his own supporters very angry.
Come on, there are no examples of his arrogance. Of his failed promises and his ability to pretend that everything is fine. Well, the trick doesn’t work with the algae in the Lincoln Memorial pond. Because the algae are visible to everyone, not like the ayatollahs. Trump spent more than 14 million in the failed attempt to fix the pond with a contractor friend of his and a dubious tender.
Then the White House tweeted that the water is crystal clear, that they had defeated the algae as well as the Iranian Navy. But going to the pond is easier than going to Hormuz. And see that after the expensive works, there are more greenish algae than ever. He boasted about solving it in 2 weeks. He, who had built more than a hundred swimming pools, said. He promised to do what no one else had been able to do. Same as in the Middle East but with swimming pools. Same arrogance. Same result.
Moral?
Can’t command tanks
to solve the pond thing
